Tampat Do Aman meaning a place of peace or a place of friends started to evolve in January 2011 and since then a number of projects have been completed to offer any guests a full experience of Borneo at the Tip of Borneo. The accommodation consists of a traditional Rungus Long House and Nine “Little huts” all nestled in amongst some great gardens. A Rungus Cultural Museum and a Newly opened wildlife reserve, where Jungle trekking and survival courses start, all await and these are just some of the activities on offer, the beaches with all their goodness also beckons ,a place not to be missed on your trip to Borneo, read the reviews and then come and enjoy for yourselves !!
Tampat Do Aman Jungle camp is the first stage of the accommodation , offering accommodation for a maximum of 42 people and it is hoped that by the end of 2013 a further 38 places for accommodation shall be provided with the building of 15 chalets adjacent to the Long house area. The idea for this little piece of paradise is to offer guests the best of both worlds, great traditional accommodation amongst some great gardens and Jungle but with easy access to the superb beaches that the Tip of Borneo area has to offer…… 8 beaches of world class standard right on the “door step”.
Tampat Do Aman in keeping with the idea of offering a full experience of all that Borneo has to offer also has a great restaurant “Tip Top” located on the beach at the Tip Of Borneo this restaurant provides a great mix of Local, Local cuisine (Rungus), local cuisine(Malay/ Chinese) and Western favorites. Cold beers and great wine also served to help make the restaurant and beach feel that much more chilled out. A regular shuttle service links the beach with the Jungle camp accommodation, thus ensuring a holistic Borneo experience. The restaurant is a great place to spend the day “chilling” on the beach, with soft seating and the sun setting right in front of the restaurant, it is a superb place to unwind and forget the worries of the modern life. Tip Top also doubles as an activities centre and offers a number of great activities : Surfing (With surf and body board hire), Kayaking (6 to choose from), Mountain Bike hire (a fleet of 12), fishing trips AND Mangrove cruises with the locals. The atmosphere is one of relaxing at Tip Top but a great place to share stories of adventures whilst planning the next day’s activities.
